I speak about overcoming adversity because I’ve lived it! I had to crawl through the hellfires of life, and by God’s grace, I came out with an anointing for restoration and the ability to build from ashes!

I experienced a traumatic foster care system as a child. I’ve been a leader at a church where the senior pastor was found to be living a double life, and I then experienced the pain of members spreading lies, rumors, and outright slander because they thought they were “hearing from God.” I’ve had to battle demons in the form of “church people” who formed groups with the goal of ending my marriage. I’ve lived through the modern-day struggles of marriage, battling feminism and the strongholds that can work against a husband’s leadership. I’ve had to break generational chains and curses to ensure that my children grow up developing their own passion for God. I’ve also experienced poverty and the daily struggle of making sure everything works out.

Through it all, God taught me to strengthen myself in Him through faith, education, perseverance, and intentional chain-breaking and cycle-breaking strategies. Despite everything, I emerged victorious, equipped to destroy obstacles and to become something greater from the very things meant to destroy me.

Like Joseph, who endured the hardship of being betrayed and sold into slavery by his own brothers, I’ve watched God use the most painful experiences in my life for His divine purpose. He has ultimately used my hardships to shape me into a powerful instrument of restoration and revival, equipped to help the Body of Christ break chains and build from ashes.
